  1. I think I enjoyed that more than the one-a-day because you concentrated on the ones you enjoyed! I’m also glad there were a couple that felt Christmassy – every year I expect this to be full of Christmas-themed stoires and am always a bit put off by the more misery-oriented ones… ;) The chocolates sound delish…

    1. I’m actually disappointed by the calendar so far, I’m not finding as many stories I enjoyed as last year, but I still have a few days!

  2. I’m glad to see your Advent calendar post! I always enjoyed them. How terrific that the chocolate is the best despite the low cost! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.

    1. Thanks so much Laila! I’m going to do a round-up summary of the advent calendar in the next few days probably.

  3. I finally got to this! Every day I would see it in my inbox while I was at work and couldn’t listen to the video. Thank you so much for the shout out; what a treat, what a dream! It’s such a bummer that many of the stories aren’t good, especially since I know the calendar isn’t cheap. Plus, if it were me, I would really, really want them ALL to be holiday themed. I never hear about a Jewish story, or the Chinese New Year, Kwanzaa, nothing. A lot of small literary magazines will put out a call for themed stories–why can’t this publisher do the same? Even if not everyone was a big name, I would think it would be worth it.

P.s. did Ducky make the tree?

    1. haha yes you’re right, the calendar is pretty expensive, although I hardly spend any money on books so I don’t mind the cost. I agree that all the stories should be holiday themed-what a wonderful idea!!!

And yes, Ducky did make the tree! He was probably near the very bottom so my youngest could play with him without taking down the whole thing haha

    2. Christmas was super nice. My husband and I made the Christmas Eve dinner together for everyone. We’ve developed this patter (after watching too many baking shows on Netflix) of me telling him a task and him saying, “Yes, chef.” So, my three-year-old niece decides she needs to help us making the lasagna — like, she’s gonna DIE if she doesn’t — and next thing I know I hear this tiny voice saying, ‘Yes, chef.” Be still, my heart!
