Holiday Advent Calendar Unveiling: December 25!!!!
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!!!!
If you’ve read a few of my past posts, you’ll notice I’ve read a few ‘downers’ lately. Not bad books, but sad books all the same. So, I skipped ahead on my to-read shelf (I generally try to read books as they are sent to me) to The Happiness Equation, by Neil Pasricha. I’m glad I…
Like many other book bloggers out there, I choose to pick up scary (ish) books during the month of Halloween to help me get into the spirit of things. The spooky season was a great excuse to finally read The Girls by Emma Cline, which has been staring out at me on my book shelf…
This book could have easily become a cliche; it centers on the extramarital affair that Maggie has with her penpal-turned-friend-turned-lover James. But there are a few things that keep Fire Sermon by Jamie Quatro from spiralling into an overdone narrative. Firstly, Maggie is quite religious, which of course raises a few eyebrows right off the…
Earlier this week I had the pleasure of hearing cookbook author and food writer Julie Van Rosendaal speak about a plate full of things including our relationship with food, book distribution, clean eating, cookbook production, and self-publishing. All the things she spoke about interested me because I cook almost exclusively out of cookbooks, and I’ve…

Hershey’s Kisses are uniquely associated with Christmas for me, since I always got them in my stocking as a child, and so I’ve eaten quite a lot of them this month, ha ha! That big one is intimidating! Do you cut that with a knife? :)
glad to hear!
oh no, I just smashed it like the animal I am haha
I’m very impressed that you made it to the end! I admit that I didn’t get to watch them all, but figured I should at least watch the last one to see if you were still happy and smiling, or if you were haggard and grouchy by the end. Good to see you smiling! I really should buy the advent calander myself, but I just get so little reading time around the holidays. But I suppose I don’t *have* to read them on the right days…
I think I have a couple of O, Henry stories around here – I should read them sometime! :)
Happy 2018!!
Thanks, Happy New Year!
