  1. It’s important that you mentioned cookbooks and where they come from. Many people think, “Oh, I want the best Italian” and get a cookbook by an Italian in Italy. One of my favorite parts from Julia Child’s book My Year in France is when the three writers of her famous cookbook can’t figure out how to get real French food into American kitchens due to grocery limitations, no access to certain utensils, and Americans’ desire to cook in a short time period (busy, busy, busy).

  2. It’s so true! I almost only cook via recipes, and so many online recipes just don’t cut it these days. It needs to be homegrown!
