Radio Segment: Father’s Day
I recorded my first radio column since giving birth this week, so it sounds like I have a bit of ‘baby brain’ when certain titles and words escape me, but luckily the very seasoned radio host fills in the blanks (thank you Terri!). Hopefully the more sleep I get, the better my radio columns will become!
I spoke about two very different books that feature ‘disappearing dads’ in honour of Father’s Day this weekend. I know it’s a strange way to celebrate fathers by reading about the ones who abandoned their families, but I thought this was an interesting link between these two novels-and for the record, both dads aren’t as bad as they seem! So click on this link to hear my reviews of Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan and The Only Cafe by Linden MacIntyre.
