I recorded my first radio column since giving birth this week, so it sounds like I have a bit of ‘baby brain’ when certain titles and words escape me, but luckily the very seasoned radio host fills in the blanks (thank you Terri!). Hopefully the more sleep I get, the better my radio columns will become!
I spoke about two very different books that feature ‘disappearing dads’ in honour of Father’s Day this weekend. I know it’s a strange way to celebrate fathers by reading about the ones who abandoned their families, but I thought this was an interesting link between these two novels-and for the record, both dads aren’t as bad as they seem! So click on this link to hear my reviews of Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan and The Only Cafe by Linden MacIntyre.

The books sound good, but the best bit this week has to be that adorable little kitten! 😀
ha I love the cat gifs!
Congrats on your baby’s arrival! A little forgetfulness is completely allowed!
There is a book called Memories of My Father Watching Television that I need to read, because that’s more my dad, lol.
Congrats on the baby! 🙂 I’ve got Manhattan Beach on my list. I can’t wait to read it. 🙂
I hope you like it!
