2018 Short Story Advent Calendar Unveiling: December 9
Smokey hogs the camera, I’m wearing my housecoat, and an important and timely story is included in today’s video.
I adore this book. I knew I would, there’s a cat on the cover and I heard Patrick deWitt read from it during his Giller event here in Calgary last year and the section he read was HILARIOUS. Luckily the rest of the book lived up to his stellar performance, and I think I’ve found…
Some of you may be wondering where my reviews of the 2019 Short Story Advent Calendar are, because in years past, I’ve posted a review every single day from December 1 to December 25. Well I’ve smartened up because it was just too time intensive to make a youtube video each and every day, so…
So I’ve done something a bit different with this Booktube review. I typically record 60 second(ish) book reviews, which is quite challenging. right? I got myself a chocolate treat to make up for this disappointment, you can check it out on Dec. 11

What a beautiful conversation about this story. This is a nice video, Anne. I’m super disappointed in the chocolate calendar. The same thing happened last year with the same chocolates repeatedly. It almost seems like a rip-off.
right? So frustrating. And thank you!
