Radio Segment: New Year’s Resolutions!
So I’ve been reading a few non-fiction books lately in anticipation of recording this radio segment, mainly because I know people will want to read some books to get them motivated in January. As I mention at the beginning, I will never promote a dieting book, especially one written by a celebrity (for obvious reasons!) but I do think memoirs are a healthy way to get us looking at our own lives differently. And for those die-hard resolution-makers, I’ve also included a book on getting your finances in order. Click here to listen to the whole 7 minute segment.Â
Ha!
LOL
Haha!
I can’t listen to the radio segment right now due to my location/lack of head phones, but I do want to say THANK YOU for not promoting dieting books. I think as someone who advocates fairness for all fat people, I’m sometimes mistaken as someone promoting being unhealthy. I love making food, including things we typically buy like spaghetti sauce and granola, and I’m a big fan of fitness that makes us feel good (and doesn’t make us feel like we are punishing ourselves; moving our bodies is not a penance!). I love bicycles, swimming, and dancing, but hate exercise machines of all kinds — especially the elliptical and what it represents to most women. There are fat people who don’t chose to eat well or exercise (or can’t), and those individuals also deserve respect. It’s much bigger and more complicated than what most people think, which is why I’m digging into the topics with my reading. Thanks for being an ally :)
you are most welcome! I wish that by now people realized that healthy bodies came in all shapes and sizes, alas we don’t seem to be there yet.
