Radio Segment: Books that Take Us Away
It doesn’t take much to please me these days, as you’ll hear on my latest radio segment with the CBC Homestretch. I admit to wanting to take a vacation on my couch, but don’t we all? An uninterrupted stretch of reading time is all I need for my ‘paradise’, although I realize some people may have higher expectations which is why I chose Fly Me by Daniel Riley, and Dangerous Crossing by Rachel Rhys (my written review to come!) as my March recommended reads. Both these books are perfect for the armchair traveller-I can already feel the sand between my toes! You can listen to the full segment here.
Glad to hear you enjoyed A Dangerous Crossing – me too! Did you know that the Cleo in the book (the kinda ditzy girlfriend near the end) was named for our very own bloggy Cleo at Cleopatra Loves Books? She won a charity auction to have a character named after her… :)
yes! I thought that name rung a bell, that’s so very cool. Go Cleo!
Like you, my favourite kind of vacation is any time or place that I get to read in peace. :)
it’s nice having low standards sometimes, isn’t it?
Haha… I LOVE having low standards!
Awwww, trip kitty!
