  1. That’s insightful: the way that we can choose to accept the unexpected as a disappointment or a delight. When I was younger, I had the idea that how one felt was simply how one felt, that it wasn’t something you could control or change, but how I wish that i had understood that differently – all the heartache I could have avoided! LOL I would like to say that I would always look to the kind of unexpected development you’ve described here as a delight, but sometimes I have to take a step back and then re-approach so that I can truly appreciate it. But if this story had gone the way you expected it to, I wouldn’t have been as likely to pick it up, and now I’m definitely curious…plus I do find short novels especially intriguing, how quickly everything must be developed and set into motion. Plus you can read another book sooner, ammiright? :D

    1. You got it!!! Short novels are the best which is probably another reason why I loved Shirley Jacksons’ The Haunting of HIll House haha
