  1. Your enthusiasm for this is convincing! I’m adding it to my list. I enjoyed the other Jane Eyre retelling that came out recently, The Wife Upstairs.

    1. Oh that’s right, I remember reading your review of that one. Yes, this was a winner in my eyes!

  2. I think the biggest beef most folks have with Mr. Rochester is that he’s married, his wife is upstairs and needs psychological help, and he’s falling for his governess, who is about half is age. It’s one of those classic novels where you want the romance to work out, but you know you shouldn’t? Kind of like watching You’ve Got Mail. Tom Hanks’s character destroys Meg Ryan’s family business, all while knowing she’s chatting with him online and isn’t aware of who he is.

    1. I haven’t watched You’ve Got Mail, but I really should! haha

At least in this book, Mrs. Rochester is supposedly dead, so not as much guilt there LOL

  3. I love the feeling of being able to just glean a page or two while caught in a waiting pattern, a plot being so engaging that that works. But, the part where you say that you can begin to spot questions, if you think about it too much, that suggests it might not be a match for me. Glad you enjoyed it though!
