As I’ve mentioned perhaps once or twice before, I’ve got my own book club. And this book club is the best book club in the world, with the best people organizing it, and the best people taking part in the discussions. Last week we had our second meeting where we discussed The Substitute by Nicole Lundrigan. Because we voted to read this book together at our first meeting I knew people would be excited to discuss it, and if you’re curious, you can read my in-depth review of the book here, or watch my sixty-second review of it here.

Deep in discussion, as book clubs are ought to do

I’m always impressed by the breadth and detail of our discussions. Everyone is eager to speak and give their opinion, which of course makes the best kind of book club. There were lots of familiar faces and a few new ones too, so seeing that just made my day, hell it made my month!

So Wordfest and I would like to cordially invite you to our August book club meeting, you can get details here. We are reading Just Like Family by Kate Hilton, which I will post my video review of following the meeting. Another reason to come on August 23? We have a special assortment of treats on offer from local Calgary bakery Pretty Sweet!!!!  Jeez even if you hate books you might as well come for the delicious and beautiful food. But seriously, come to my book club.
