Radio Segment: Palate Cleansers Pt. II
I’m not so great at posting my on-air book reviews, which is why this segment is ‘part two’ of something you probably haven’t heard (sorry). Once a month I mosey on over to the CBC studios here in Calgary to record a few book reviews, and this past Tuesday I spoke about two lovely little beach reads/guilty pleasures/palate cleansers (I explain what I mean by that on the recording!). You can listen to the segment here.Â
Side note; I was showing off my baby to everyone as I arrived in studio, and my baby pooped on Jenny the traffic reporter right before I went on-air. Working mom problems, ya know? Anyway, I reviewed The Good Pilot Peter Woodhouse by Alexander McCall Smith, and From the Corner of the Oval by Beck Dorey-Stein.  Surprisingly, I’ve had a bunch of people contact me this week asking me to confirm the titles of the books I recommended. So, there you go-proof that reviews DO sell books! Huzzah-all book bloggers can rejoice with me in this small demonstration of our importance.

Hmmm that’s strange because I think the author does get a bit of compensation when a library purchases a book and puts it into circulation-at least in Canada I think that’s the case? Alot less when people buy the book, but still I don’t think it’s all bad…too bad that author didn’t agree (sigh).
Great poop story! Mothers should think about putting together a poop story anthology…
Oh boy, there’s lots of stories where that came from-and it would sell like hotcakes I bet
