Radio Segment: A Book For Everyone on Your Xmas List!
It seems as though every time I record a segment for the CBC I get more and more opinionated (“How could that possibly be?” I’m sure my husband asks himself). I think that’s because I’m getting more comfortable-the big black fuzzy microphone in my face doesn’t seem as daunting as it used to be. It helps when the interviewer can make you laugh unexpectedly, it puts me right at ease. There’s a lot of laughing in my latest segment, have a listen.  Can I get a….
This month I recommended Fifteen Lanes by S.J. Laidlaw, The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer, Conclave by Robert Harris and Thrice the Brinded Cat Hath Mew’d by Alan Bradley, which I haven’t read yet, because I’m saving it for Christmas week. I know a lot of bloggers agree with me when I say it’s very important to read a Christmas book over Christmas time. For many book lovers it’s the only way we can fully get into the holiday spirit! What Christmas books will you be picking up in the next few weeks?
I love listening to an audiobook of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I’ve got a wonderful version read by Tom Baker who played the 4th incarnation of Doctor Who. He’s brilliant as all the different characters and creating that ghostly atmosphere.
Ohhh an audiobook-what a wonderful Christmas tradition!
I just listened to your radio segment – you sound so relaxed! And now I want to read Conclave, which is probably a book I wouldn’t have thought twice about before.
Enjoy your Christmas book! :)
Oh thank you! And yes, Conclave-very surprising, but very enjoyable :)
I loved the interview and yes you do sound relaxed. You don’t have a nervous tension in your voice. Not at all. Bravo for you conquering your fear of speaking!! Happy Holidays to you and your hubby.
Thanks so much for your kind words, happy holidays to you and your family!
