Radio Segment: Books That Take You On a Journey

So you can always tell when I’ve been travelling, because the pictures of my books don’t feature Pearl or Smokey. I went on a lovely road trip to the UK a few weeks ago with my husband, and while away, I read a few books about travelling, just to help me get in the exploring mood. I’ve reviewed both of them on this blog already, here and here, but in case you just want the pared-down reviews, you can listen to my radio segment with the CBC on Tuesday.
In addition to speaking about Lauren Fern Watt’s Gizelle’s Bucket List and Dave Eggers’s Heroes of the Frontier, I also talk about my reading style while travelling, which typically involves reading books en route (i.e. driving in the car). I also confess to using google rather than reading travel books, because nobody got time for that.
I’ll have to listen to this tonight after work! How fun!
thank you in advance for listening!
Just listened – it was really fun to hear your voice! Eight books in twelve days. That’s amazing. I find that when I’m traveling I read much less than I do in my normal everyday life. Do you do radio interviews often?
I do the radio interviews about once a month, sometimes more often in the summer. I only do lots of reading while travelling if our daughter isn’t with us. If she is-all bets are off!
I love hearing your radio clips! Gizelle’s Bucket List sounds like fun… *except* for the whole reason behind the bucket list. Maybe I could just stop reading before getting to the end.
Like Laila, I read a lot less while traveling or on vacation. You must not have had your little one with you! Glad you had a nice trip. :)
Hey Anne
Great radio interview! Now I know where the “Chateau” came from. 😁
