  1. Really enjoyed this review! I’ve had this book from the library but had to return it before I got it read:) I’m really curious now about these unlikeable characters that you missed when you were done!

    1. I know! It’s such a strange reaction, reading a book about people I hated so much, but I couldn’t put it down. You should run back to the library and pick it up again :)

  2. Ha! I was sure we were heading for a 1-star review at the beginning, so kudos to the author for making you care about the characters even when you hated them! :D

  3. It’s so true – there were so many reasons not to care about these people, yet she made us care about them anyway! I even felt guilty for not liking Flora. I definitely felt sorry for her, and could even understand why she was the way she was, but I still didn’t like her. I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one!

  4. I wasn’t going to read this but then I started seeing all these interesting reviews around the book blogging world. I loved your honesty, by the way! I think I’m going to have to give this one a try.

    1. hmmm ok. I’ve had authors insist on us having a copy of their own book on hand for each event to read from, because they refused to carry that book themselves. They just didn’t want to have to take their own book to their own event. Sigh….

    2. you never know who’s reading! But seriously, the worst author I ever dealt with threatened to kill me because she was allergic to peanut butter and I didn’t do a good enough job of keeping the peanut butter away from her when some catering staff put some out by accident. Thankfully, that has been the only time my life has been threatened. She was a poet, btw.
