  1. My husband knows some stuff about cameras, so I’ll ask him why it tries to focus every time you move just a littlest bit. It’s so fun that a spooky book is considered literary and that it’s up for a prize. I may have mentioned this to you before, but I’ve been to some writing conferences where they now have panels about literary genre novels. People are really into them, so literary genre novels are making a big comeback. There are also literary genre short stories. So you get authors like Kelly Link who write fantasy or speculative fiction, but she’s broken into a mainstream market.

    1. Ohhh I had no idea this was a thing! Glad to hear it though, the literary genre needs to be spiced up a bit.

  2. Happy Halloween! I’m even more excited to read this book now. I doubt it will happen before Nov. 7, but that’s okay. I still haven’t read Cataract City – have you?

    1. Yes indeed! I forgot what I think about it, but I seem to recall having to defend it at a giller light event some years ago…
