  1. I like historical fiction about the war. Any war, really. Especially with some good female characters. It’s funny about the cover, though… I wonder why it’s so drab?

    1. Yes, not the greatest choice for the cover considering what’s inside. I loved it all the same tho

  2. Bonjour Canada,

Author here. Thanks for the nice review! I come to defend the cover, which I loved. If you look at other books about women in WWII, you always see a partial woman — the back of her head, a torso and an arm leaving frame — and inevitably, the Eiffel Tower in the background (because although it was called a “world” war, it seems to have been fought mainly in Paris?) I asked the good people at Stonehouse for only two things — no pink on the cover, and no partial woman. And they delivered, so I am pleased.

If you have questions, have at me! I will check back!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Elizabeth! I knew my comment about the cover would irk some, and your reasoning is good-too many single women on covers of historical fiction with their heads cut off, etc. Glad to hear Stonehouse delivered on your wishes :)
